March Against Racism
The Texas state legislature has proposed two bills that are rooted in racism and xenophobia.
- SB 147 proposes that businesses and citizens of China, Iran, North Korea, or Russia shall not be able to purchase property in Texas. This does nothing to solve any real problems, while only hurting the Asian American community.
- SB 552 prohibits entering into business agreements with companies based in China, Iran, North Korea, or Russia. We are not at war with any of these countries, and this is not what a free market looks like.
We organized a March Against Racism in Chinatown to show that we will not tolerate intolerance. It was a peaceful march with influential guest speakers and a police escort for protection. Our guest speakers included:
